in Sonora, California 42 months ago | If you have how did it go? They said I had minor deception on 2 of the questions, but they didn't make it seem like a big deal. We discussed the questions that had the minor deception and they informed me that I was in one of the first groups of applicants to have to take this voice test, and that a background investigator will be assigned to me finally. I haven't heard anything else, and may be calling soon just to check in. I was happy because I did ask the stress test guys if they could see what I scored on the written test, and they said I got a 90. I'm assuming that's a decent score. Now only to find out how I did on the physical test (besides knowing I passed). I applied around March of 2015. Took a written in August 15'. Took the physical in October 15. Live scan was in November, maybe December or even January. I'm drawing a blank. If any has an questions let me know. |
in Norco, California 42 months ago | I am basically in the same boat as you... minor deception on 2 of the questions. Did not seem like a big deal either. I received a 90 on the written taken in May '15 and took the fitness test in July '15 (passed). I took the CVSA last wednesday. Just waiting for a BI now. Did they send out the background questionnaires to your references? They sent them out to mine, including my current employer. |

To my knowledge I don't believe any of my references or employers have received background questionnaires. Nice you must be ahead of me!! but it looks like you're a few months ahead of me anyways! Seems right. Weird I took my voice test 3/7/16 bestnof luck to you! |
in El Cerrito, California 42 months ago | Hello all, did anyone in Sacramento that recently did their CVSA have SGT. Renkert as their examiner? If so what kind of person was he. |
in Sonora, California 42 months ago | I did not have him as my examiner. Sorry. My examiner was super cool though, and he kept stating that he wanted me to pass. |
in El Cerrito, California 42 months ago | Thanks Irunfast87 for your response, I have SGT. Renkert on the 26th of this month, he called me and explained the cvsa test. He sounds like a good person, I told him that I had drug use over 22 years ago, he said to make sure it was correct in my PHS and to make corrections if needed and to email to him prior to our meeting. Did your examiner go over everything on your PHS or just designated questions? thanks for your feedback. |
in Sonora, California 42 months ago | They had hand picked a few questions off of my PHS. The examiner also had some questions (4 I believe maybe 5) not on my PHS where he either wanted me to lie on purpose. Example: he said 'the color of the wall is pink' it clearly wasn't, but he wanted me to purposely say 'yes' (he made it clear on the real test). Also, he had 2 questions that had nothing to do with my PHS, but he wanted me to tell the truth. Example: 'is there a phone on the desk' (there was). There was a total of 10 questions If I remember correctly. Maybe 12. Before they mic'd me up and did the real test the examiner and me went over the 10 or 12 questions. Everything was a yes or no answer. He changed some questions based on what we discussed. Example he would say 'besides what we just talked about have you ever...' If you |

in El Cerrito, California 42 months ago | Thank you for your feedback, I'm just trying to get a feel of what to expect when I go on the 26th of April. I have never had one of these type exams and I am hoping that the machine doesn't manipulate my honesty. |

I have never had one of these type exams and I am hoping that the machine doesn't manipulate my honesty. I had never done anything like this either. I was nervous and I believe most people would be nervous based on the circumstances, and the examiners know this and work with you accordingly. They did a really good job of explaining everything. I had 2 questions show up with minor deception, and I honestly was being 100% honest. We talked about it, and they said everything would be sent on to a background guy. They made it seem like it really wasn't a big deal, and that it was somewhat norm |
in El Cerrito, California 42 months ago | Thank you for the encouraging words, I should do well as I put all of my background information on the PHS, just have to make adjustments to my drug history section. It has been over 22 years since I last used and I want to make sure it is correct information so when I am asked it will be the same. I am nervous about taking this CVSA but I am not going to let it disrupt my pursuing this job. I have nothing to hide. I have heard war stories about this type of exam. |
in Sonora, California 42 months ago | Don't let it stop you! Sounds like you have nothing to worry about! Just be honest. They'll talk to you about every question that way there's no confusion! Don't psych yourself out! |
in El Cerrito, California 42 months ago | Thank you, you made my mind more at ease. I won't let it stop me, I want to make it through the whole process. Thanks for your support. |
in Bakersfield, California 27 months ago | I have mine July 19 in Fresno, I have never done any test like this, I answered yes to 3 queistions on my PHS at age 16 I tried weed for the first time just to try it never did it again, also at age 16 at my first high school job I applied I was hired but they let me go on day 2 since I did meet there job requirements, and at age 17 another high school job an employee with high seniority told me to go home for the day because she was mad at my job performance. She had no authority to send me home for the day so the store manager called me to go back to work and he has spoke to the employee. Would these things on my PHS cause me to fail? Or should I just relax and go take the test? |
